A part of the SouthStar Bank family, Alexis Michael works in the Urban North region as SBA Director and Regional Credit Manager. She enjoys building relationships with her clients and being a true partner. For the past 15 years, she has been a full-time commercial real estate and SBA lender, still partnering with a number of current clients whose loans she closed over a decade ago. It brings her joy to watch the businesses grow and expand, knowing that she helped play a role in their success. She has received recognition for her hard work and dedication to her clients. Her recent achievements include being recognized as a Top Commercial Lender by Austin Monthly in 2022 and selected as an Emerging Leader by the Texas Bankers Foundation in 2021. She has also been recognized by the Austin Business Journal as a Top SBA 7a and SBA 504 lender for many years and as a Person to Watch in 2017. Alexis served as President of the Austin chapter of CREW (Commercial Real Estate Women) in 2017. She joined CREW in 2009 where she is still an active member, as this organization holds a special place in her heart. She feels blessed to have been elected and serve as the Austin chapter President leading the 150+ member chapter. Alexis is originally from the gulf coast of Florida and visits as often as possible. Her family loves pretty much anything that involves the salt air. They are also very active with their two girls who play competitive volleyball and her youngest who also competes as an American Ninja Warrior.
