Lost or Stolen Debit/ATM Card

Debit/ATM cards are one of the most popular ways to access funds because they allow secure, convenient purchases and ATM withdrawals. Unfortunately, cards are occasionally misplaced or worse, they are stolen or your identity has possibly been compromised.

SouthStar Bank, S.S.B. hopes you never have to deal with this situation. If you do, you will need your debit/ATM card number and expiration date to report the missing or stolen card more efficiently. Please note this information and secure in a safe place for future reference.

For more information on how to use the portal to send or receive secure messages, you can view the user guide.

Report your missing, stolen, or compromised Debit / ATM card as soon as possible.

During normal business hours, report an issue by calling or visiting any of our branches. After hours or on weekends, please report your missing or stolen debit/ATM card or ID theft by calling 1-800-472-3272 and following the prompts.

What Happens Next

  • When your Debit/ATM card is reported missing, stolen or compromised, the card is immediately canceled and can no longer be used.
  • The bank’s after hours lost / stolen card hotline call taker is unable to process requests for a replacement card. If you want a replacement Debit/ATM card, please contact your local branch in person or by phone during normal bank business hours.
  • If you request a replacement Debit/ATM card, it will be mailed to you. A new personal identification number (PIN) will be generated and mailed separately. You can change this default PIN as part of the new card activation process. Simply follow the directions supplied with the card

Important Notes

Once you receive your new card and PIN, you’ll need to activate it before making purchases or ATM withdrawals.  If you plan to use your card outside of the United States, please alert the bank prior to travel or online orders so your card can be authorized for temporary out-of-country use.
