Congratulations Brianna Tirado! New Branch Manager

Brianna Tirado has been promoted from Personal Banker to Assistant Vice President and Branch Manager of the SouthStar Bank Gonzales branch. She has been with SouthStar Bank for three years, all at the Gonzales location. In her new role, Brianna will be responsible for the retail operations of the branch from both a sales and service perspective. She looks forward to deepening her connection with the Gonzales community and expanding her banking knowledge to serve her customers best. She also looks forward to becoming more involved in community programs and organizations in her expanded role. Outside of work, Brianna can be found in the outdoors, spending time with her family, or watching her favorite football teams, the Houston Texans and Kansas City Chiefs.

Congratulations Anthony Albino! New Branch Manager

Anthony Albino has been promoted to Branch Manager of the SouthStar Bank Round Rock branch. In his new role, Anthony will oversee the branch’s operations, manage resources and staff, develop and attain goals, deliver quality customer service, and continue growing the location’s revenue. Anthony holds a Business Management degree from Texas College and five years of banking experience, including a year at SouthStar Bank, where he thrived in his previous Personal Banker role. He is most excited about the opportunity to grow within the organization and welcome new customers to the SouthStar Bank family! Outside of work, Anthony enjoys watching his favorite sports teams, the San Francisco 49ers and the Denver Nuggets, and making homemade pickles. He looks forward to using his new position as a platform to become involved in the Round Rock community.

Congratulations Bridget Brosh! New Branch Manager

Bridget Brosh has been promoted to Branch Manager of the SouthStar Bank Moulton branch. As Branch Manager, Bridget will see increased responsibility that includes budgeting, forecasting, and planning to meet the needs of her customers while also maintaining her complex role as IRA Coordinator. Bridget holds four and a half years of experience in the banking industry, all of which were spent with SouthStar Bank. During this time, she has consistently thrived and has grown from her initial role as a Personal Banker to IRA Coordinator and now to Branch Manager. Bridget is looking forward to expanding her knowledge in banking operations as a Branch Manager. She plans to hone her ability to find creative solutions to unique challenges and is eager to continue building relationships with her customers and the community. Outside of work, Bridget is active in the community and as a member of the Moulton PTO and the Moulton Booster Club. When she finds time to herself, she enjoys spending time outdoors, gardening, and making memories with family and friends.

Online and Mobile Banking Tips

In a few easy steps, begin internet banking As long as you have an account with SouthStar Bank then you are eligible for online banking. Using a computer or smartphone with Internet access, getting started is simple. 1. Before enrolling in Online Banking, you will need your account number, the type of account, social security number, zip code on file with us, and email address on file with us. 2. Click here to get started. Alternatively, you can type southstarbank.com into your web browser, then click the E-Banking tab and select Login from the dropdown menu. Next, click the picture above where it says, “Online Banking Login” and click the Enroll now link (below the Login button). *Please note that you must enroll in online banking through the web browser before you can login through the mobile app. What can be done online or with the mobile banking app? The majority of transactions can be completed online or via SouthStar Bank’s mobile app. Benefits of using online banking include: The status of pending deposits and charges, or those that have not yet been reflected in your account, is frequently displayed. Please be advised that the amounts you see for pending debit card transactions can differ from the total that actually posts to your account. Before presuming that pending deposits are available for payments or withdrawals, carefully review the funds availability policy of your bank or credit union. The SouthStar Bank mobile app also allows you to deposit checks into your account via the mobile deposit feature. The mobile app streamlines the check deposit process and just needs a few steps: 1.     If you haven’t done so before, download the SouthStar Bank mobile app a.      Open your phone’s app store and search for “SouthStar Bank Mobile” – you will see the SouthStar Bank logo next to the app. Next, install the app. Once the app is installed you can open it and login with your online banking credentials. 2.     Follow the guidelines in the mobile app to deposit the check. a.      At the bottom of the mobile app, click the Deposit tab. b.     Next, click where it says “Deposit a check”. c.      Select which account you want the check deposited into. (Use the dropdown arrow and then click on the correct account.) d.     Type in the amount of the check by clicking where it says “Check amount”. e.      Click the “TAKE PHOTOS” button. f.      Before taking your photos, make sure there is ample light and the check is placed on a solid, dark-colored surface. Also flatten the check all the way if it is not already flat. g.     Align the check with the box, hold steady, and then tap the capture button. h.     If the picture was captured clearly, tap the “USE” button. Congratulations Bill Staley! New Branch Executive & Senior Vice President of Lending

Bill Staley has been promoted to Senior Vice President of Lending and Branch Executive of the SouthStar Bank Round Rock branch. Bill has spent just over three years with SouthStar Bank and holds a quarter century of experience in the banking industry. Well versed in all types of lending, Bill holds a great deal of experience in Commercial and Industrial Lending. He is also a strong advocate for small businesses and possesses a strong understanding of the various SBA Loan Programs offered by SouthStar Bank. In his new role, he is excited to leverage his wealth of experience and serve the Round Rock community and the greater Central Texas Market in an even greater capacity. Bill is focused on ensuring clients and coworkers look forward to working with SouthStar Bank by delivering premier customer service and offering unparalleled expertise in the industry. Outside of work, you can find Bill at the grill perfecting the culinary science of Barbeque, playing the drums, riding his motorcycles, or tending to his fruit trees. Bill is also involved in the Cedar Park Chamber of Commerce and is due to graduate from their Leadership Program this May. He has also served on the Board of Junior Achievement and was a Board Member for the Breast Cancer Detection Center of Alaska.

Congratulations Brent Gibbs & Cole Schindler! New Central Texas President & CEO

The SouthStar Bank Board of Directors is pleased to announce the promotion of Brent Gibbs and Cole Schindler to the positions of Central Texas President and Central Texas CEO.   Brent has worked in banking for 26 years, with this being his 13th year with SouthStar Bank. Brent is an alumnus of Texas Tech University and the Southwest Graduate School of Banking. He began his career at SouthStar Bank as the original Branch Executive and Senior Loan Officer for the Southwest Austin branch when it opened in 2011. He was later promoted to Chief Lending Officer and has served in that role since 2018. He became a SouthStar Bank  Board Member in 2021 and continues to serve in that capacity. As Central Texas President, Brent will be a critical liaison between the credit/lending functions and the Board. He will be involved in helping manage the Bank’s profitability and will assume responsibility for monitoring and managing SouthStar Bank’s strong credit and earnings. Brent will also administer SouthStar Bank’s specialty lending programs – working directly with the credit, lending, and compliance departments. In his new position, Brent will be working directly with David Kapavik and begin assuming duties and responsibilities held by him. Cole has served SouthStar Bank for 20 years. He received his MBA in Communications with a specialization in communication studies from St. Edward’s University in 2004.  Cole began his career in banking as a teller and bookkeeper and continued to work his way up in the industry, joining SouthStar Bank as a Credit Officer and eventually developing into a Senior Loan Officer. Until his most recent promotion, he was an EVP/Strategic Development Officer/Senior Lending Officer. He became a SouthStar Bank Board Member in 2007 and continues to serve in that capacity. The Schindler and Brown families have owned a majority interest in the Bank through Southern Bancshares Holding company since 1981. Cole is a third-generation family member to hold a key leadership role at the Bank. As Central Texas CEO, Cole will take on a much more significant role in the vision and strategic development of SouthStar Bank’s growth and success. With his knowledge and experience at SouthStar Bank and involvement in the main ownership group, he is uniquely positioned to advance the organization. Cole will work directly with the executive team and current CEO/President David Kapavik in a broader role, leading the Bank’s overall direction.  The Board and executive management are excited by the vision and energy Cole and Brent bring to SouthStar Bank’s future. Congratulations Ryan Noyce! New Executive Vice President & Chief Lending Officer

SouthStar Bank is pleased to announce the promotion of Ryan Noyce to Executive Vice President and Chief Lending Officer.  Ryan is a 25-year banker and has served with SouthStar Bank for seven years. He is a graduate of Texas State University and a 2022 graduate of the Southwest Graduate School of Banking at SMU. Over his career, Ryan has worked in every position in the industry, from Personal Banker to Senior Vice President and Regional Executive. He began his career with SouthStar Bank as a Senior Commercial Loan Officer in the Steiner Ranch branch until he was promoted to Regional Credit Manager of the Urban South Region in 2019. Ryan is a veteran loan officer and has proven to be very successful in leading teams. Internally, he has won two of SouthStar Bank’s most prestigious awards, including the President’s Award for Urban South in 2020 and the Trailboss Award in 2021. In his new role, Ryan will bring the technical experience and positive mindset to continue leading SouthStar Bank down the path of safety, relationship building, growth, and profitability. He will also oversee the lending function in all 16 full-service locations and SouthStar Bank’s East Austin Loan Office. Outside the bank, Ryan is married to his wife, Melissa, and they have three children together. In his community, he is a very active member of his church, coaches his kids’ soccer teams, and serves as Chairman of the Board at Reveal Resource Center, a food, clothing, and diaper ministry serving Low to Moderate Income families. Congratulations Jesica Garza! New Area Manager

Jesica Garza has been promoted to Area Manager for the Urban North region at SouthStar Bank. This region includes the Georgetown, Leander, and Round Rock locations. Having joined SouthStar Bank in 2019, Jesica excelled in her previous role as Vice President of Lending. In her new capacity, she is eager to leverage her wealth of knowledge and expertise to lead her team of loan officers toward achieving goals that enhance the lending experience for all customers. Jesica specializes in complex underwriting, providing customers with unique lending options, and has emerged as a commercial and residential lending expert. Her contributions have earned her awards with the bank, including the President’s Award in 2023 and the Ride for the Brand Award in 2021. She has also received accolades from the Austin Home Builders Association, where she was named Mortgage Industry Professional of the Year in 2023 and recognized as one of Austin’s Top Mortgage Professionals in 2021 and 2022. Beyond her professional achievements, Jesica is actively involved in the community, dedicating support to Flatwater, a local non-profit founded by her husband that provides access to therapy for families coping with a cancer diagnosis. She is also in the 2024 Leadership Georgetown class with the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and looks forward to leadership serving opportunities in her hometown of Georgetown upon graduation in June. Outside of work, Jesica can be found spending time with her husband and two children at the soccer fields or family dinners with their large extended family in Georgetown. When she finds time for herself, she enjoys workouts at her local CrossFit gym or diving into a good novel.

Congratulations Tyler Narro! New Branch Manager

Tyler Narro has been promoted to Assistant Vice President and Branch Manager of the SouthStar Bank Hearne branch. As a Personal Banker, she has thrived at finding solutions for her customers’ needs. Tyler has been with the Hearne team for just under six years and brings over a decade of banking experience to her new position. As branch manager, Tyler is excited to support her team in any way possible to ensure the branch remains compliant. She is also motivated to deepen her connection with the community of Hearne in her new role. Overall, Tyler looks forward to continuing to develop her team and leading them to success in 2024! Outside of work, Tyler spends much of her time with her children, attending her son’s sporting events and enjoying the outdoors.

Congratulations Amanda Aaron! New Credit Officer

Amanda Aaron has been promoted to the role of Credit Officer. She has proven to be an exceptional leader and motivator during her time with SouthStar Bank, first as the Leander Branch Executive and then as the SBA Credit Officer. Now, she has brought those traits into SouthStar Bank’s growing credit department. At the beginning of 2023, she was promoted from Branch Executive to SBA Credit Officer. This role allowed her to lead the charge in growing and developing SouthStar Bank’s SBA Portfolio. As SouthStar Bank’s Credit Officer, she will expand her role to the bank’s entire portfolio of loans, reviewing and approving credits of all types, assisting in training, and developing and growing the Credit Department to accommodate the continued progress of SouthStar Bank as a financial institution. While in her new position, she will continue contributing to the SBA Department as an SBA Specialist. Alongside her contributions to the bank, Amanda is also involved in several community organizations, including the Central Texas Association of Government Guaranteed Lenders (CTAGGL), a local SBA organization where she serves as VP.   When she finds time to herself, Amanda enjoys watching all types of sporting events, coaching her daughter’s softball team, and spending time with family and friends.
