She has nine years of experience in the banking industry, with six of those years being spent at the SouthStar Bank Franklin location, formerly known as First Star Bank. Janis Cowman Arteaga brings over 20 years of finance experience with her new role as Commercial Loan Closing Coordinator at SouthStar Bank’s Georgetown Branch. Janis is eager to apply her experiences in her position with SouthStar Bank. Outside of work, Janis loves spending time with her family and traveling the U.S. Her favorite place she has traveled to is Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho.

Alexis Stilley joins SouthStar Bank as a Personal Banker at the Harker Heights Branch. A Student at Central Texas Community College, Alexis is currently working to earn her Business Management degree. In her role, Alexis looks forward to meeting and building lasting relationships with her customers. In her free time, Alexis enjoys traveling, coaching little league soccer, and watching makeup and beauty tutorials on YouTube.

Pamela Barbeau, Assistant Vice President of Lending/Commercial Loan Closer, SBA Specialist | SouthStar Bank Georgetown
Pamela Barbeau works at the Georgetown Branch as Assistant Vice President of Lending, Commercial Loan Closer, and SBA Specialist. She recently moved to the Georgetown location after starting at the Leander branch three years prior. For Pam, the highlight of her career has been mentoring, inspiring, and supporting others within their financial careers. As an SBA specialist, Pam works directly with small business owners in assisting with a variety of financial needs. She loves watching businesses succeed and achieve their goals.
Pam served as President of the Austin chapter of Financial Women in Texas in 2017-2018. During her time as President, the Austin chapter achieved its highest membership and raised the most money at the Austin conference, all while empowering each women within the financial industry. In her free time, Pam also volunteers with the Georgetown Police Department.
Some of Pam’s favorite past times include spending time with her granddaughter, reading, and vacationing with her family. An interesting fact about Pam is that the first concert she ever attended was to see Elvis Presley.
Congratulations to Kimberly Watson on her promotion to Branch Executive!
Kimberly Watson was promoted to Branch Executive at our Southwest Austin Branch. She joined SouthStar Bank in 2013 with over 20 years of experience in the industry. Throughout her time with SouthStar Bank, Kimberly has played an instrumental role in expanding SouthStar Bank’s mortgage department. Kimberly specializes in portfolio loans, real estate, and construction financing. She also handles refinance and traditional mortgage lending.
Kimberly prides herself on her ability to build long-term relationships with her customers. “I love helping borrowers buy their 1st home and then later helping them build their dream home,” she says. She is able to provide comfort with her expertise and personable skills ,which allows her to guide customers through every step of the loan process.
Outside of work, Kimberly enjoys spending time with her husband, Van, and their daughter Raece.
